Young People Speak Out Against Climate Disasters Through ‘Youth Resist and Care’ Movement

Bandung, February 14, 2026 – A relentless wave of natural disasters hitting Indonesia—from Aceh and North Sumatra to West Bandung—has sparked deep concern among the younger generation. In response, Enter Nusantara has launched the “Youth Resist and Care” movement. This initiative is a bold stand against the indifference of decision-makers who often treat climate victims as mere statistics rather than human lives.

Driven by a spirit of solidarity and diversity, Youth Resist and Care is a space for young people to build cross-generational movements. Through this initiative, Enter Nusantara is pushing for a collective awareness of “just disaster mitigation”—especially at a time when public policies seem to prioritize everything except the safety of the people and the health of our planet.

The movement brings together education, physical action, and art in a unique way. Participants are joining community bike rides, silent reading sessions, and a photo exhibition that captures the reality of life in Aceh following the disasters of the past two months. The event also features the launch of a zine focused on collective care, alongside community reading stalls and live printing sessions that use creativity as a tool for change.

A key part of the movement is a public discussion featuring voices from Rhizoma, LBH Bandung, Enter Nusantara, and Kawan Medis. The goal is to help more people understand their rights to demand better, more comprehensive climate and disaster policies in Indonesia.

To show that art is a form of resistance, the movement also features a collaborative music stage with Black O Society and Peels Minutes called “Dead Peels Minutes.” This performance symbolizes how youth expression can be a powerful force in demanding a fair energy transition and faster climate action. By looking through the lens of justice, this movement aims to ensure that the voices of the people are no longer ignored and that our future is built on safety, recovery, and real climate solutions.
