On Sunday, June 1, 2025, the Society of Renewable Energy (SRE) ITB held an event titled Ground to Gas: Learning Excursion held in the Auditorium of East Campus Center, ITB Ganesha. This activity is a movement to create a space for open discussion about the implementation and future of renewable energy, especially biogas in Indonesia, through the development of the Ground to Gas (G2G) project.
The Ground to Gas project developed in collaboration with Enter Nusantara as part of a shared commitment toward a just energy transition and a green economy in Indonesia. This idea was born from a space of critical dialogue among youth, initiated by Enter Nusantara during the 2024 National Student Conference Forum.
Renewable energy is a source of energy that comes from nature that is able to be regenerated freely and is able to be renewed continuously and infinitely. Currently, renewable energy is one of the concrete steps to address the climate crisis. Renewable energy can be created by utilizing increasingly sophisticated technological developments so that it can become an alternative energy source to answer the problem of the climate crisis.

In this discussion, Enter Nusantara, represented by Naba Hudani as the volunteer coordinator, had the special opportunity to fill the talk show session with a duration of more than 60 minutes. We present an in-depth discussion about the role of Enter Nusantara and the role of young people in supporting an equitable energy transition without eliminating the rights of others.
The discussion was warm and interactive. In this discussion we conveyed several points about the role of our organization in striving for an equitable renewable energy transition. Starting from the organization’s profile, the values carried, as well as some of the work programs that have been carried out, range from environmental education to clean energy advocacy in various regions and helping to distribute renewable energy as a solution to the climate crisis.
This discussion was a place to share experiences about Enter Nusantara’s collaborative projects in encouraging the use of renewable energy. We believe that renewable energy is not just a commodity issue but also a means of struggle towards climate and social justice.

The Ground to Gas: Learning Excursion also featured an in-depth presentation from the SRE ITB team on the design and implementation of the G2G project. Not only did they present the technical successes, they also opened a space for critical evaluation and reflection on the challenges in the field.
Through a dynamic question and answer session, participants showed great enthusiasm regarding renewable energy issues and its implementation and use in several regions in Indonesia.
Ground to Gas: Leaning is not just an educational discussion but a challenge and an answer to the climate crisis by strengthening collaboration between youth, academics, NGOs, and the private sector in encouraging renewable energy efforts in Indonesia.
We believe that change towards clean energy must be collective and equitable without leaving anyone behind. Through this discussion, we hope to continue to expand our network, create new collaboration spaces, and build an active movement to accelerate the energy transition that is community-based, sustainable, and equitable.
